I really have a hard time understanding the totally lack of tolerance from the Muslim community. Take this recent article by the NY Times in which the Wikipedia Islam entry is being criticized by Muslims all over the world for it’s use of an image of Muhammad (I’ll call him Mo from here on out) taken from medieval manuscripts. I would think these people would actually be happy that the image was from such an old source. You know, closer to the time Mo actually touched base with us mere humans and demanded believers in him kill infidels. It’s not like they have a cartoon of Mo in womens underwear bouncing up and down on a pogo-stick and singing Y.M.C.A by the Village People.
If the Muslim community ever wants the rest of the world to take them seriously, they need to cease with this type of behavior. But deep down, I really don’t think they care what the rest of the world thinks of them.
So now what? Are they going to go after the staff at Wikipedia and kill every last infidel that runs the site? After this, this, this, and this it would not surprise me.

You have to realize that The Holy Koran prohibits depictions of people in paintings (and maybe also pics, im not sure), especially that of The Prophet Muhammad.

The Jewish aren’t allowed to eat Pork, yet we don’t see them kicking up a fuss when anyone has a bacon sandwich. Muslims aren’t allowed to draw depictions of the Prophet Muhammad, but I’m pretty certain that that cartoonist wasn’t Muslim. And besides, isn’t naming your child Mohammad basically creating an image of the prophet? Should we kill those kids?

@Ben. Yeah… if religions were to follow all their laws to the letter, I think most of the world’s population would be killing each other over their laws. Oh wait, they are!
Since you bring up Pork… You guys ever hear of the “Pig Riot”?
About 200 or more people were killed during this “riot” where there was some “defilement” of thoughts by a pig. Google that for more information. It is to me mind boggling how people would really believe this crap.
And I think you make a good point about naming your kid after their prophet. Kind of like Mexicans name their kids Jesus.

Hello Not a Muslim. I suppose that is part of the problem. The Koran also states the following;
Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate. [Koran 9:73]
That certainly does not sound like a “religion of peace”.

@Not a muslim. Yeah, I think I agree on that. That is not *part* of the problem. That *is* the problem. Not so much so that the book states such prohibition, but that people actually believe that they must enforce this upon non-believers.
